Sorry, but I just can't stand Genesis. I never have been able to. It's not snobbery, but simple differing tastes. I don't like the way some people assume that certain groups just MUST be loved, regardless of preference, if one is to be a true prog fan. I've had my right to even be involved as a collaborator questioned a few times just because I dislike that band! As it happens, I think the concept, however lightly it was suggested, is a great one - we should all bring a copy of a favourite prog album with us as identification (vinyl pref.). |

It's ok not to like them, just don't be too harsh about it |

Not hate but... they do make me cringe, somewhat. I really wouldn't like to pose as a Genesis fan. Maybe the "seen dead" comment was a bit much, but it's such an overused figure of speech that it's all but harmless and more than a little meaningless. |

Hey, I LOVE curry! Could you please send me the leftovers (if too big for MP3 email, try Yousendit), and Syzygy's share of the pints? Alternately, you could all just come here, and I'll make you a lovely Vindaloo, for free! Of course, there is the small matter of the airfare from Britain, but I'm sure Max will be good for it -- we've never otherwise asked for pay, right? Edited by Peter |

Actually, here's a suggested date for that randy beggar Tony: "Oh my gawd! You Bolton boys really know how to fill a muscle shirt!"
for Syzygy (he may need a few courage pints, teetotaling notwithstanding):
and for that lovable loony leftie Mark the Shark: "Here, have a 38 caliber after-dinner-mint!" All in good fun, guys -- all in good fun! Edited by Peter |

I think it would be a good idea to meet in a pub first, at an agreed time. Get everyone in one place, and booking a table in advance may be essential on a Friday. Definitive list seems to be: sigod Missed anyone?? |

This could be worth cancelling other engagements to attend - with Trouserpress & The Miracle already on the verge of kicking off over Genesis, just imagine the carnage after a few pints & a good Chilli Chicken Dhansak...
FOOD-FIGHT!
Come on, Peter, way too expensive for all of us to travel over there (especially as we'd have to tolerate -20 degree temperatures...); how's about you swop arctic Canada for the more temperate climes of Stevenage & we shall travel together to West London, there to partake of beer and curry... |

There could be 11 of us in total.. I think it would be a good idea to at least meet up at a pub near either Paddington or Waterloo, and take it from there. You may have to get the old Sombraro out again, Simon.. Syzygy says there are good curry houses around Paddington. Thats fine by be! |

If the venue hasn't been decided yet, Waterloo gets my vote, since my train directly there.

Here's a list of Indian restaurants within easy striking distance of Paddington. I haven't been there for some time, but I seem to remember De Mughal on Praed Street being pretty good. http://www.mypaddington.co.uk/paddington/restaurants-list-in dian1.htm |

Mine too, but it's no hassle getting on the tube to Paddington IF thats where most people are heading. Think it takes about 15 minutes on the Bakerloo line. Syzygy's link to the Paddington curry houses looks good. A friend of mine has had good things to say about a few of them, but I cant remember which ones. |

Paddington gets my vote as that'll save me flapping about on the tube (I'm hopeless at it, no matter how many simple diagrams and lists of instructions I have to hand). Have we finalised what day we're doing this yet? The friday/saturday debate's got me all confused, like. |
