Topic: Otherwordly albums Posted: December 29 2005 at 16:07 |
I thought that this would be a good idea for a topic, sorry if it's been done before .
You know those albums you have that take you to another world. They're
not necessarily masterpieces, but there's something about them that
just seems to bring you to another world...I have two in particular:
Klaus Schulze-X
Neil Ardley-Kaleidoscope of Rainbows
Honorable mention: Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven-GY!BE
I'm sure there are many others, but these are the ones that have the most impact for me.
Now, your turn .

2 gems from the Acid Mothers Temple stable are doing it for me at the moment
Kawabato Makoto solo guitar excursions, one acoustic and one electric.
Dazzlingly good psychedelic power trio featuring Yoshida Tatsuya of Ruins on drums.

X IS NOT MASTERPIECE??!! I beg to differ!
Schulze/Namlook - Dark Side Of The Moog II
-makes me everytime feel like I am in a silent world,of
echoes and whispering voices,in which, suddenly, thunder begin to shake
everything...light,colour...then back to slumber silence...
Tangerine Dream - Rubycon
Edgar Froese - Epsilon In Malaysian Pale
Vangelis - El Greco
King Crimson - The ProjeKcts
this Crimson box always makes me imagine a world of void, even chaos, but active,on the move...

Might sound odd to add to this group, but Tool's Lateralus has always done it for me.

Actually,I do think it is a masterpiece!!! I was so amazed by it that I
wrote a review and remarded the album 5 stars, it does qualify for the
masterpiece status IMO.
I just meant the albums didn't necessarily have to be masterpieces , mine just happen to be masterpieces.
