Dream Theater dealt with.

As for the ratings without reviews, the ones mentioned above all came from different e-mail and IP addresses, so they are as legitimate as all the other ratings without reviews.

Only M@X (or Rony) can take the final decision on what to do with ratings without reviews. All I can suggest is to keep making representations on the subject to make sure he knows how you feel. (Better to do so in the forum, don't bombard him with PM's!)

Yes I agree wholeheartedly with the above sentiments; I've been proposing a possible change to the system in a few of my posts of late. I love CTTE and feel it is a true prog masterpiece, but this 'fiddling' of the album's overall rating does it no favours.

An instance I found even more disgusting was on Rick Wakeman's discography. Under recommended albums, there were many of his 1980s albums which are generally perceived to be turkeys. I was appalled to see that 5 star reviews without ratings had put these albums there- if they had been well written, I would never have complained.

Even if this system isn't stopped completely, I think this 'rating without reviews' thing should really be re-evaluated and these reviews be discounted from the album's overall rating. It detracts from the genuine reviews which obviously a lot of thought have gone into.

A pretty poor review in my opinion...

Very poor!

 

On a slightly different subject, but still related to this thread topic, I think that the ability to "Vote" for an album should be stopped right now.

This thread appeared in the main forum to celebrate CTTE being knocked off the top of the ProgArchives charts - something I was very glad to see; democracy in Prog at work.

However, some people took it into their heads to vote it back again - to deliberately "frig" the system we have here;

HALL OF SHAME:

These people should be ashamed of themselves for not even bothering to review the album, but to vote their favourite back to number one. I, for one, am disgusted at this pathetic technique.
