I think that ones jsut about OK Salmacis, as you say, a bit weak. I noticed that too with the reviewer names. The collaborator names seem to be OK. I'll PM M@X. The names still appear on the album pages OK.

Thanks for the others on the previous page. I can just about get the Yes Symphonic one. I think "replays" refers to overdubs for example.

Looks like Greenback's copying him/herself.  Ugh.  Why can't people write originally? Mind you;this is not an attack on him/her...

LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT Liquid Tension Experiment

SPECIAL COLLABORATION

5 stars  â€”  I have never seen such a masterpiece since the early 90's. Masterpieces are rare these days, or maybe they are harder to find. The DREAM THEATER fan should absolutely get this CD. More instrumental, it gives all the room to fast drums and guitars of the 2 artists. There are a good keyboardist who is able to follow the complex and fast patterns without any problem and the great Tony Levin on bass to complete the oeuvre. This is prog hard rock, even metal.

The great complexity of the music satisfies me totally. Probably i'll have to review my top lists....... HAPPY THE MAN!

TRANSLATION:

Unfortunately this record is hugely unknown by the music maniacs but it is definitively the best in its genre. Those who have listened to it let the chin drop due to its great quality, millions of light-years ahead the time it had been produced.

NB: I translated 'quedan con la boca abierta' literally 'stay with the open mouth' as 'let the chin drop'...

Thank you ...

Although now that I know what it says, I'm not sure it should stay, because it doesn't say a word about the album ... it is the only review there though ...

This review is rediculous. Makes little sense and barely describes CTTE at all. Also references "fagoots" and "BLAC MUSICIANS." Read on.

YES "Close to the Edge"

4 stars   A very contradictory album.

Let's view the first side of the coin first. The rhythm section of YES is amazing, and it tells on this album. WILLIAM BRUFORD's drumming, while not as good as his own drumming in KING CRIMSON together with ROBERT FRUUP, is excellent and if you just forget about music and listen to his drums you will see the eternal world of incredible talent and grief of lost souls. It can't be understood! Here he plays together with a bass player guy called CHRIS. And one must say this guy's work is very impressive, and I call it impressive because it impresses me personally. His basslines are technically everywhere and all over the place, like you English speakers say. If I was a HIP HOP artist like 50 CENT I would be stealing music from musicians like WILLIAM and CHRIS not some silly faggots who think they sound cool because they are pedophiles.

But I wouldn't give this album so many stars, if it wasn't so innovative. BACH and OTHER PEOPLE were innovative during that one century, MILES DAVID and LANCE ARMSTRONG were innovative during the early century of JAZZ MUSIC and ETCETERA. The innovativity of this record is in the singer's voice. However, let me break you, he sounds absolutely horrible at times, but very innovative during others. During the first song, he creates a completely different vocal style, today known as RAPPING or HIP HOPPING. Before the YES SINGER nobody knew that they could just stop singing and RAP instead. I think that, while simple, this idea wasn't so easy to come up with. I guess the YES SINGER did a lot of science and studying so that he could reach a state mind that creates innovative things. A truly impressive job, nice man! Thanks to MR. YES SINGER, such people like EMINEM, 50 CENT and OTHER TALENTLESS PRICKS get payed millions, while they deserve to die slowly without being known by anyone besides the shameful parents that bore them. I know, I hate RAP and even HIP HOP, but I do not deny that the fact that it was created by a person who sings in an intellectual band must be put into account. Now, let us consider the lyrics, that sometimes are very bad, but during others are so good that the whole scene of BLACK MUSICIANS would later copy them and sing about nothing besides bitches, sex and money. "A seasoned witch could call you from the depths of your disgrace" - the YES SINGING MAN is talking about having fun with a very old woman here. Disgusting, but very creative and innovative for its time.

Now, let us drown deep down inside down the bad side of the record. The vocals of THE SINGER when he stops RAPPING are horrible!!! They sound like a bunch of hippie pedophiles who had done a lot of drugs and molested many innocent yellow haired children at concerts. And the guitar sound is terrible, it reminds me of what would play JIMMY PAGE while half asleep and half in the shower. The good thing is that the KEYBOARD PLAYER is really really good and IMN OT KIDDING! He solo's so many times that I start laughing accidently. HE and THE RHYTHM GUYS truly save this record and make not just a show of a guy who variates PEDOPHILE VOCALS with RAPPING, but a solid record with many amazing moments.

Now, let's see... If you dislike HIP HOP or maybe even RAP, you should still buy this album because it is very innovative. However, if you are a HIP HOP fan yourself, you absolutely must buy this thing and I don't see why it wouldn't become your all time favourite album. Compared to EMINEM and SNOOP DOG, these people are able to write their own music and play their own instruments. Sure, their singer goes all PEDOPHILE sometimes, but it should be ignored, and whenevr he does this, just forget about his pitiful existence and listen to WILLIAM going BOOM BOOM on these fabolous drums.

IN OTHER WORDS HIP HOP FAN OR NOT BUY THIS!

it appears that Sproutguy has too much time on his hands..... not only is he casting aspertions against Riccy, more importantly he's lowering the tone of all my nice Jadis reviews...

 DREAM THEATER "Octavarium"
Review (Permanent link) by danrugg
Posted 2:36:07 PM EST, 12/29/2005

5 stars   Time signature - song one is 1/8 - song 2 is 2/8 and so on.. This is a study in excelence. Definatey sounds like Dream Theater. Sorry folks I don't "hear U2" in These Walls.

I found the album outstanding

A pretty poor review in my opinion...
