Topic: Light, Medium, or Heavy Progger? Posted: December 27 2005 at 12:02 |
So here are my descriptions:
Light: You listen to some of the classics and a few modern bands, but overall your musical collection is just fluttered with some prog and prog influenced bands. You own and listen to a lot of music that isn't prog, but occasionally will pirate a prog album if it looks interesting.
Medium: You own a lot of the classics and love them along with prog music, but you aren't willing to give up other musical genres just for this one. You sometimes think prog is too pretentious and at times ridiculous, but you still have your own certain bands you follow, and you are open-minded to recommendations.
Heavy: You listen to A LOT of prog. You've heard a lot of underground prog and you are in love with the underground scene. You are a prog completionist, and a fan of all of the classics along with numerous other versions of progressive music. You still occasionally glance at other genres, but overall your world is dominated by the world of Progressive Music. You are in love with prog.
I listen to NOTHING unless it has the prog label on it: That one's pretty self-explanitory. You are not open-minded towards other genres because all other genres suck--end of story. Prog is the only genre worth ever listening to.
Please vote, I think this will be interesting. I for one and somewhere in between medium and heavy...so that's where my vote goes.

I would say medium heavy, because I am a completionist and do listen to a lot of different prog genres, but I put medium instead of heavy because of this part of your description..
"You still occasionally glance at other genres, but overall your world is dominated by the world of Progressive Music."
I listen to quite a bit of music other than prog.

I am heavy, because I pretty much only listen to prog and subgenres of prog.

I would call myself light to medium...I am very strict when it comes to
prog...sticking with the bands and the music I know and like...very
sceptic (often as a mistake) when it comes to experiencing new
music...without a good,solid recommendation from my rock-prog-stuff
like this expert, dad,or here on the forum...I hardly start anything...

Heavy, although I do like a lot of other music other than prog, prog is by far my favorite genre and the only music I bother getting and listening to on my computer.

actually im more medium heavy. i also love tmv way more than atdi. im
heavy because i listen to dream theater but dislike satch or becker
because theyre not prog.
prog dominates me because it's the best, and because jazz is boring to listen to.
