Symphony X over Spock's Beard, I'd have to question that. |
Why not, some people like Symphony X, why can't you just accept that fact...

Guess who I voted for. They did an epic that is 42 minutes worth of perfection. |
And I WOULD HAVE TO QUESTION THAT..., but I don't because that's your opinion and I tolerate it, because tastes are different...

Epic, Schmepic! Where's Joes Garagage? What is this, some kinda conspiracy? Just who d'you think you are? Hunh? You can't dis Zappa, the King Sh*t of Turd Island! You'll pay for this you TINY FOOLS! Joe's Garage is the epic of episcs, the Holy Grail of all that is epic. I'm ashamed. You've shattered all my illusions. I need a shower. I feel dirty.

In quantity probably Pink Floyd but Genesis made one epic that is above all... and also several mini-epics (around 10') that are fantastic too.
The question for me is that Yes seemed to create epics only to show the musicianship and abilities of their members while Genesis, PF, JT and others preferred to tell stories/histories (nor ever well succeeded but they tried).

I prefer Yes non-epic tracks so it's gotta be Floyd for "Echoes" and "Shine on..." they keep their quality all the way through

My vote went to Yes (because of his whole work) although my favorites epics
are Thick as a Brick and A Passion Play (oops, I forgot Supper's Ready)

While I too like the Transatlantic epics (All of the Above, Stranger in Your Soul, Duel with the Devil), my vote went to Spock's Beard (The Light, The Water, The Doorway, Healing Colors of Sound, Flow, At the End of the Day, The Great Nothing, Snow).

That was a hard decision, I mean Genesis has Suppers Ready, but I gave it to Yes
