I'm a big fan of the 1971 outtakes and i really like side one of aqualung, but not much of side 2. here's my rankings
-Cross eyed Mary-classic
-Life is a long song(remix)-beautiful classic, should have been recorded properly like this in the first place
-Aqualung-overplayed but very good song
-Up the pool-love this acoustic
-For Later-very catchy upbeat instrumental
-Up to me-very catchy acoustic
-Dr Bogenbroom-strong acoustic dark feeling
-Wond'ring again-very nice acoustic
-Mother goose-catchy acoustic rocker
-Wond'ring aloud-short but sweet
-Cheap day return-short but sweet
Locomotive breath(mu version)-the recording makes it more interesting than other version
-Wind Up(quad version)-more lively and prog sounding than other version
-Lick your fingers clean-pretty cool sounding rocker
-Locomotive breath-good, but predictable
-My god-good in bits, but vocals annoying, repetitive riff
-Hymn 43-good chorus, but messy song
-Wind up-nice in slow bits but annoying hard rock in heavy bits
-Slipstream-half decent
-Nursie-half decent
aqualung is far from my fave tull album but 1971 would be close to tulls strongest year. the 9 outtakes form a group of songs as strong as the aqualung album i believe. i hope i haven't missed a song ;)
