oh...well England I suppose, as I only support 1 team; Leicester City...

...I'm not at all bothered about other clubs in Europe, providing one of our teams beats them in the Champions League...

what's the footie match in your Avatar, Trotsky??

A goal is being conceded, so I think that must be Leicester City...

Maybe the Wembley Goal!!??

Oh goodness .. you haven't heard this one Jared ... nevermind I love telling it ...

it's a "goal" that Pedro Mendes scored for Spurs against Man Utd towards the end of last season ... he lobbed it in from the halfway line and Carroll dropped it into the goal and then scooped it out ... trouble is ref and linesman were so far behind that they didn't give the goal ... !

Well, that's the story anyway ... over a 10 year period penalties in league matches at Old Trafford were given at a ratio of 17 to Manchester United and 1 to the opposition ... you figure it out ... anyway my father and about two dozen of my relatives and friends support MU (the second largest number of MU fans in the world is in Malaysia, after the UK obviously) ... so this avatar is a reminder of the unfair means that devils can use ...

^^^ah yes, THAT 'goal'...I didn't recognise it from the small picture, although of course it's very well remembered over here...

I am guessing that many thousands of handerchiefs were taken out of pockets in Malaysia 2 weeks ago, when Man Utd got knocked out of Europe...

Most Brits found it rather funny, because as you can imagine over here, if you don't support Man Utd, your second team tends to be whoever's playing them!!!

Heh heh ... yes I quite enjoyed it ... in a silent "I can't really gloat because I support Spurs kind of way!"

Well actually my favourite Spurs side (since I started supporting in the early 80s) was the 1986-87 vintage with a midfield of Hoddle, Waddle, Ardiles, Hodge and Paul Allen ... Clive Allen banged in 49 goals that year ... although Spurs finished 3rd in the league, runner-up in the FA-Cup and semi-finalists in the League Cup ... frustrating ...

But yes this year it's looking pretty good ... at least my younger cousins have stopped laughing

^^^younger cousins have a tendancy to laugh...

...my nephew (a Man Utd fan who has never been to Manchester)...thinks its hilarious that I support Leicester City, even though that's where I'm originally from...

The FA Cup winning sides of 1981 & 1982 were good...especially defensively, built around Steve Perryman...he was a rock.

No arguments from me ... T'was a great side ... I think only the addition of Waddle puts the 87 side ahead in my book ... and Gary Mabbutt was certainly a worthy successor to Perryman ... neither of them particularly fast though!

that's right...Gary Mabbutt and Graham Roberts...like two gargoyles in the heart of the defence...
