Re the Yes review, it's a valid point about the rating not appearing to match the review. Olympus, any comments?

Sorry, forgot to mention earlier that I'd already sent a PM to Olympus

We should hear from him soon.

YES "9012 LIVE"
Review (Permanent link) by Olympus
Posted 7:21:46 PM EST, 12/17/2005

3 stars   This was one of the worst live YES album ever. The thing that makes it so bad is the fact that Trevor Rabin and Tony Kaye can't play Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman's parts, this shows how skilled the full YES line up is. In the WURM section of Starship Trooper Jon Anderson plays guitar to back Rabin who tries to immitate Steve Howe but just can't, it is a real shame. Don't wast your money if you want Live Yes on screen then get Songs from "Tsongas Yes 35th Anniversary Concert", dont waste your money on a three peice YES band plus two ameturs.

If he hates this album so much, then why does he give it three stars??

I only think the two symphonic Yes songs I've seen all good people and Starship Tropper are bad, The rest of the concert from the rabin era isn't bad, i just think that they should have left their old work alone so it could be performed by the right people.

"Let's get the hell away from this Eerie-ass piece of work so we can get on with the rest of our eerie-ass day"

SPOCK'S BEARD V
Review (Permanent link) by Timeweaver @ 1:42:10 PM EST, 2/16/2004

4 stars  —  Can someone explain me how can come there are so many similarities between this album and Symphony X's "V"?

They have the same Title "V", they were both released in 2000, and the background of the cover art is almost the same!

This is a bit of a duffer imo; only just noticed it though it's been here nearly 2 years!

Cheers Salmacis. I'm still working my way through the old reviews, so there will be some dodgy old ones lurking about (bit like myselfEmbarrassed).

I found one today whcih read " This album is very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very good.Yes it is good ..BUY buy buy buy buy this cool album it is one of the best."

And to think some people have trouble thinking of 50 words to write!LOL

By the way, Olympus is going to PM me with a revision for his Yes review.

This might be appropriate as it gives minor descriptions of the album and some songs, but is obviously a bad internet translation and is diffult to understand:

3 stars   "EQUINOX" IS AN ALBUM OF HARD ROCK THAT WITH THE PROG HIT THE CENTER OFLITTLE. BUT IS NOT EASY TO LISTEN TO, BECAUSE NOT IMMEDIATE. THE STYX SUCCEED TO WRITE A VERY VALID ALBUM, THAT FIDS THE MOMENT PROG ("MOTHER DEAR"), BUT ALSO MOMENT ALMOST HEAVY METAL ("MIDNIGHT RIDE" & "BORN FOR ADVENTURE"). BIG GUITARS AND BASS, FOR AN ALBUM FROM ARENA ROCK.

Another one, which might not be so bad if the guy backed up why he thought the song is horrible, or in the case of "Supper's Ready," so great:

GENESIS Foxtrot progressive rock album and reviews Symphonic Prog
(Studio Album, 1972)

GENESIS "Foxtrot"
Review (Permanent link) by Page to Squire
Posted 11:52:43 AM EST, 12/20/2005

2 stars   What a dissapointing album! Watcher in the Skies never deliver is just not good enough in any way. Can- Utiltiy... is just bad and Get'em out... is sporadicly good but on the whole average. Tim table is a good song but a bit bland! The album begins to pick up with Horizons which is an exellent bit of intrumental. But what saves this album is Suppers Ready possibly the best prog song ever! Excells in every way and on every level with each musician outdoing themselves. It earns most of the rating itself. However one track no matter how epic cannot save an album. Their is much better Genesis, symphonic prog and music out there! Download Suppers Ready if you can dont waste money on this!

I agree SB. I think it's just about OK, but I've e-mailed NELNOMEDELPROG asking him not to write in ALL CAPS. I deal with his reviews ona a case by case basis. If they are a bit hard to get, but otherwise OK, they stay.

I was in two minds about the Foxtrot one Page to Squire, but ended up sending one of my "weak review" e-mails, and letting it stay.

^^^ sounds like and Internet translator, perhaps. Not many people fluent in English would capitalize words like Essential and Good when not at the beginning of a sentence. Probably a mix-up with the "not-recommended" thing too. Otherwise, I think it's a decent review.
