Frances the Mute, easily. With Opeth, Coheed, Dream Theater, and Dredg as runners up.

That was last year.
Also, the Spock's Beard album listed has the wrong title. It's acually titled Octane.

Frances the Mute... but why isn't Opeth included in that poll? Their
album is my runner-up, and I'm sure they'd get lots of votes.

Deadwing....by far the best album this year
but Kayak and Opeth did a great effort too while Kate Bush made a great comeback album.

I did not hear some of them (Arena, Carptree, Kino, Wobbler) but I go with Riverside - 2nd Life Syndrome.

Frances the Mute is the best, though I voted Octovarium, which was my second.

...could your print be any larger...? Frances the Mute is where my vote stands...but some of you probably already knew that. It's basically amazing...as a runner up I'd go Second Life Syndrome...then Deadwing...then Catch Without Arms I suppose (Which, while it isn't a bad album at all...it's nothing extraordinary...

I was kinda disappointed with this year's releases.
Riverside's album was good, but their first was much better.
Dream Theater was ok, but not great.
Dredg Catch without Arms - it's a chore to listen to this album all the way through. i couldnt be more depressed with the step theyve taken since their last album. they now sound like a new foo fighters album. unprog and uninteresting.
Porcupine Tree wasnt bad, but still not something that really caught my attention.
I'd probably have to go with Opeth.

"Wanderlust" by Little Atlas and "Syndestructible" by The Syn are also strong '05 releases.
