http://toolshed.down.net/0000.html Early word is that Tool's next album may well be out by April. But we all know how much release dates love to change... § The Opinion forums at toolnavy.com are, as many of you have likely noticed, very very down. Some folks hacked their way into the control panel, and caused a good deal of mischief, including the deletion of a few thousand posts. Dan is fairly swamped at the moment, and hopes to have them back online sometime soon... if he is able to undo all the damage. Of course if he can't, then the terrorists win, or something.--------------- http://www.ytsejam.com/modules.php?name=News&file=arti cle&sid=2 Launch Radio Networks reports: TOOL has entered the mixing stage on its new album, according to sources close to the band, and is looking at an April or May release for the disc, its first since 2001's "Lateralus". As is typical for TOOL, few details have emerged about the project since the band reconvened earlier this year to begin recording. TOOL drummer Danny Carey told Launch that while the new music was hard to describe, he thought fans would have no problem recognizing it. "All I can say is you should probably just look at the past TOOL records," he said. "It's just kind of the next stage of development. Some of the tunes are pretty heavy on this one. It's still gonna be weird time signatures and all that stuff. It's just what comes out of us, you know. We just try to be true to our chemistry when we're in the little room in here together jamming, and what comes out comes out." TOOL will release two mini-DVDs on December 20, both for tracks from "Lateralus". The discs, for the songs "Schism" and "Parabola", feature the videos for both tunes, commentary tracks from the members of TOOL and previously unreleased remixes. The group also reportedly has a live DVD in the works, although when that will be released remains undetermined. TOOL singer Maynard James Keenan is preparing to release the first wines from his own personal vineyard. Three 2004 red wine blends will debut in the spring of 2006, with more information available at caduceus.org. |

Toolshed has bee quite reliable and what I read from their own website MJK
wrote that they are doing finishing touches for the new album. I wouldn't suprised at all of the April release. They already have booked dates for the next summer shows for what I have heard (and this was few months ago. April realease makes perfect sense anyhow) Edited by GFoyle |

You trying to be a smart a**? I was just saying I am not trying to pin down a certain month or day that the new cd will come out,but I do think it will come out in the next year. They traditionally take 5 years to make an album and in 2006 it will have been 5 years since Lateralus. |

Im just going to avoid all the rumors or leaks and wait until official information is released. Im so excited, i have been waiting since lateralus for this. 5 years is too much. But patience is a virtue, so it may very well be better than lateralus, my favorite tool album.

I hope they do ... As well as for the live material they're planning to release on DVD if this is true ... That would be awesome ... It's to bad that this band, which was formed in the early 90s, has not released any live material on DVD around these days, except for the live material that came in Salival on 2000. By the way, I didn't realized about the 5 years tradition the band takes to make an album. Is that for real? Undertow was released one year after Opiate, and, three years later, Ænima was out. Then, five years later, Lateralus was released. If this is so, then it is for sure that the next album will be out sometime next year. But, do you believe that the next albums would come out five years later? If this is true, then it would be a lot time for die-hard fans, and people who just enjoy their music, like me, to expect something from the band ...
