Lerxst takes the proverbial cake! And he's probably much funnier than Petrucci!

Lifeson most definitely, has some of the best feeling and tone of any guitarist I've ever heard. And besides, where do you think Petrucci got most of his inspiration?

Quite obviously Lifeson! One note from Alex is better than 1000 from Petrucci!!!

They're both great, but there is no doubt in my mind that Petrucci is better.

indeed!! petrucci plays to many notes, it's like a machine is playing instead of a human being. Lifeson has got the best feeling, without any doubt.

I like both. RUSH and DREAM THEATER are my favourite bands now.
Anyway, I'll go with Mr. PETRUCCI.

Defineatly Petrucci! A far better technical player with many great solo's. Sadly, Alex is lacking in that department. I doubt very much that John was influenced by Alex!

I like both bands , but Mr. Lifeson has the edge because his solos don't alll sound the same as is the case with Mr. petrucci.

Call that an argument?
That was never an argument.

Portnoy gave Peart a whipping in the drummers poll & it looks like Petrucci is going to whip Lifeson's ass. All we need now is a Lee versus Myung poll and victory for Myung would mean a knock out blow for Dream Theater!

No no no! This is all wrong. Is it any wonder I can't stand the sight or sound of DT! Please don't have a Lee v Myung poll as we've disgraced ourselves enough already !

Pertrucci knows what he's doing, Alex not so much...
although I can't say IM a huge RUSH fan, so that might be why

I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

I agree. I like them both, but Alex seems more melodic whereas Petrucci seems more technical.
