This outstanding welsh band released the also outstanding album Lady Lake, why has everything to be a prog hit (including a great cover); their sound is not very accesible (similar to VDGGin my opinion), but that did not stop many prog giants. Why is it that they are unkwnown?

I have no idea. Lady Lake is truly an amazing album, and actually quite unique. I agree that VDGG was probably a big influence, but I think Gnidrolog is a lot more accessible - except for the title track maybe, and the Gentle Giant "tribute" Social Embaressment.

Timing, marketing etc.... They do have the makings of a very successful band but i guess luck wasnt on their side. But i agree Lady Lake is a masterpiece!

My excuse ... I ordered the two albums Harry's Toenail and Lady Lake and they arrived two months ago ... I've been saving them for my upcoming two week Christmas break (if the CDs are defective, I may be in trouble) ...

It may be hard for the band to live to the hype ... but I'll know pretty soon ...

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

Because you can't market such a hideous name.

Ok Gni was never a success, but again I saw that everyone agreeing to Lady Lake but not one mention was made about the debut album9Except Trotsky who will listen to it). It might be harder edged but still plentyful of masterpieces.

I can also urge you to get the live album - it is not good sound quality , but if you guys are such fans , you should make the effort

One of the ways to promote this band is to make reviews (not just of Lady Lake) but sadly three of the four pages are sitting with my lone reviews!!

If a group never gets reviews, how can they be shed light upon?!!

So get to it?!?!?

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

 I totally agree.

Also, they come from Wales. I don't know any famous band from Wales.

Maybe people who are more into prog than me may know.
