Sales of Wizards Of Winter are on the rise thanks to this Christmas lights display!

This clip passed around work the other day and none of us knew what the music was. Thanks to Fitzcarraldo's post we now have that info. I know of a few people who have now ordered the 3CD + DVD set.

The Festive Season is upon us once again so I thought those of you who have not seen this yet may enjoy it. In fact, those of you who have, may enjoy seeing it again.

The music is 'Wizards In Winter' by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They make some really enjoyable music for this time of year, by the way.

The video shows the Christmas 2004 Christmas lights display on the house of Carson Williams, an electrical engineer from Mason, Ohio, USA. He installed 16,000 lights and sequenced them to Wizards In Winter. In order not to disturb the neighbours with constant music, he put up signs telling passers by to tune in to a signal broadcast over low-power FM to hear the music. His Christmas 2005 display included 25,000 lights. I wonder what his Christmas 2006 display will be like!

If you're interested, the 2006 Christmas lights on Carson Williams' house were synchronised to the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA piece 'Christmas Eve / Sarajevo 12/24', a twist on the traditional and beautiful 'Carol of the Bells'. It rocks, but perhaps is not as exciting as 'Wizards In Winter'.

You can watch it here (scroll down the page to see a video of the 2006 display).
