Hi everyone,
May I ask you to give a listen to the first extract of our first demo ?

We're an instrumental rock band and we can say we're a lot influenced by post-rock music, and as the drummer I try to put more prog rock elements in our music.
Here's our website : http://lovelygirlsareblind.tk/ (it's in french, sorry )

And here's a link to "3x3+2" (title directly related to the time signature of the first part) that I just finished mixing : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lgab/audio/Lovely%20Girls%20Are%20Bl ind_D%E9mo_3x3+2.mp3

Any comments appreciated :
- well, obviously, do you like it ?
- what about the quality sound, the mix ?

Thanks by advance, I'm especially expecting comments from you guys, prog fans.

The second link is still not working

Pretty relaxing music. I like it. Unfortunately in this kind of songs drums have a second role so I couldnt hear very well what exactly you were playing. They seem to be very light....... but like the guitar work.

As far for the production I think God is pretty good while Space isn't as good. However I think I prefer Space.

Good job. PM me if you add more....

Thanks a lot Sularetal.
Indeed the production is quite awfull, it is live recordings, and not the best ever made ! For example the drums are more present in reality it was not a will to put it far away. I can even say that I'm the kind of drummer that is keen on doing a bit too much. I'm very influenced by King Crimson drummers and so I try, thanks to the drumming to bring a proggy touch.

I hope you'll take the time to hear "3x3+2" which its sound quality is far better.

(nobody replies to my thread)

I listened to the 3x3+2 and I have to say I realy like the music. Some very very nice guitar work with nice effects used. The drums are reaaaaaaly nice without being complex. I think that if the bass stood up a bit more by playing the same things.

Again the production is not so good. You can hear an irritating buzz throughout the song which realy destroys the atmosphere of the song.

How did you record those? What equipement do you use?

Once again, thanks. Thanks for the drums also .

Sh!t ! I never payed attention to any buzz, I'm gonna check it out right now.

The recording has been made thanks to a 8 tracks digital recorder : very usefull for the 3 guitars, but for the drums, we only used one vocals-microphone. We hope we'll have better equipment for our next recording.

I'm also gonna check your thread...

Not bad. You sound a bit like Kyo, but in a good way. The start of the song was a bit disappointing though, the drums came in all sounding great, but then the crescendo ended very weakly.

Finally !!! (well, finally at least for us as it was quite a long process)
Our 4 tracks demo is available still at lovelygirlsareblind.tk
We've done the best we could about the sound of the distorted guitars.

Any comments greatly appreciated !
