I say lock the doors and hit the b*****ds with "Close to the Edge," "A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers," "Karn Evil 9", the entire "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" album, Frank Zappa's "200 Motels," and Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring," all at full blast.

IF I'M GOING DOWN, I'M TAKING YOU ALL WITH ME!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

The crux of the biscuit is the apostrophe.

Monty Python's "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life" and "Galaxy Song"

Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"

I know someone joked about it but I really want to add Green Day's "Good Riddence". Seriously, I heard this at a funeral and I've never listened to it the same after that:

"It's something upredictable but in the end it's right

I hope you've had the time of your life"

Friends of mine know this speaks volumes about me.

"they locked up a man who wanted to rule the world.
the fools
they locked up the wrong man."
- Leonard Cohen

Renaissance - Ashes Are Burning (Live Version)

Renaissance - Shining Where The Sun Has Been

Blind Guardian - Mies Del Dolor

and finally

Megadeth - In My Darkest Hour

Yes the people will be confussed and wondering why my life seemed like such crap at the end based on ending song that I picked.

I think Time table by Genesis has perfect lyrics for a funeral even though I would pick something like a really annoying pop/dance/techno song just to annoy everyone in there. They would feel obliged to stay but they'd have to listen to the song. Mwahahaha

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Did you give any reasons for a start?

No, but I wasn't sure if it was appropriate...
Some of these songs could be very personal, and it may be too much just for some internet forum...

That's beside the point.
I was only using it as a title for the thread to try and create interest.

Queen's Who Wants to Live Forever...absolutely beautiful vocals by guitarist Brian May as well as Freddie Mercury, not to mention powerful and fitting lyrics.

Queen?? It's pathetic  I meant full of pathos. Well for me it should be Childlike Faith In Childhood's End by Van Der Graaf Generator, for the mourners to console - A Way Out by Peter Hammill

Wouldn't it be weird to play Only The Good Die Young by Iron Maiden ?

yet you still have time!
