Are you trying to say Maynard James Keenan? I find Yorke to be horrible
and Maynard to be fairly good, so I'll go for the guy who sings for the
useful band.

BOTH ARE GREAT VOICES, MAYNARD´S VOICE IS POWERFULL AND WITH GREAT FELLINGS... BUT I LOVE RADIOHEAD AND MY FAVORITE SINGER IS THOM YORKE, HIS VOICE IS WONDERFUL HIS NOTES ARE GREAT , OF COURSE I PREFER HIM THAN KEENAN , BUT KEENAN HAS A GREAT VOICE TOO |

Maynard isn't his real name, his real name is in fact James.

yeah i think maynard is good, very powerful, but theres something missing, its not unique enough. its just good. yorke i think is amazing however, so unique and weird and his lyrics are much better than maynards |

Maynard, easily. I've never really liked Radiohead, fairly dull band imo. |

I'm a huge Tool fan so i think Maynards voice is great. However I think he shows a better vocal range when he sings with A P C. Thom Yorke is a great singer too.Check out his version's of Roxy Musics 2HB,Ladytron & Bittersweet on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack.Outstanding.Even better than Bryan Ferry's . Maynard for me too. He has so much more soul than Thom Yorke, of course that's my own perception.
I love the scream at the end of The Grudge. Thom Yorke's lyrics.... meh.. I think they're pretty average. |

Yorke - he has so much more soul than Maynard. Yorke's lyrics are among the very best out there today, IMO. Edited by Certif1ed |

Agreed. I once had a bootleg (mp3) of Mike Keneally performing Paranoid Android live ... just a guitar + 2 vocalists. GREAT lyrics indeed! |

why, mainly vocals, but if the singer also writes the lyrics they should be taken into account as well. |

It is a tough decision, especially because their styles are so different. IMO, maynard's lyrics are superior, and I like his ridiculous ability for sustain. Thom's voice is very emotional, he uses falsetto very effectively and his lyrics are also quite brilliant. They both have weak points, and they are both definitely acquired tastes.
I think I am going to have to side with MJK on this one, because while they are both great singers, maynard's weak points don't bother me as much as thom's. |

Chico Marx, never one to miss a "punning" situation, had this bit of dialogue in Horse Feathers, in his patented fake Italian accent, while accompanying a music student singing scales:
