Animals is the winner. The fact that Relayer has more votes just shows how cliched Yes have become. It's now officially 'cool' to vote for them, but none of the voting is sincere.
Animals makes Relayer seem like pop music.

Relayer is an easy five, Animals is a high four. So, Relayer.
I'd think that Pink Floyd would be more of the "cool" band to pick, wouldn't they?

I like them both, but Animals gets the edge.
Relayer is a great album overall, but Dogs, Pigs, and Sheep on Animals
are three of my favorite PF songs ever. Even though the other two
tracks are filler, they're really short and the rest of the album more
than makes up for it. Relayer is good all around, but none of it
compares to the mentioned songs, in my opinion anyway.

Interesting...the larger number of votes for Relayer don't quite reflect the standing of both albums in this web-site's chart. Somehow I thought Relayer would come out on top....

You're right... they aren't comparable, but if I can do the exercise, I have to tell you that RELAYER is maybe ine of the best albums of Yes and the 70's prog age... ANIMALS is good, in fact is one of my favourite PF's albums, but is a minor piece if you compare it with Relayer... Without a doubt, Animals is better than many prog or related prog albums of those years but not Relayer...

For every time I listen to Relayer, I could listen to Animals five times. For two reasons: That way I could finally say for sure what song I´m listening to in Animals. Being the three main songs so simmilar. After the 10th time I think.
Secondly, there´s nothing as unbearable as the instrumenatal section of Gates, in Animals.
They both have a huge flaw. They are kindda repetitive and sometimes even monotonous.
Despite the lenght of their themes, they always fill the songs with no more than one idea. Songwriting is lacking in these albums big time ¡¡¡
As I said, I could still listen to Animal way more times than I could listen to Relayer

Animals by a long shot. Much superior lyrics. Which translates into a
better and more cohesive concept. Of course comparing Floyd lyrics with
Yes lyrics is never fair as the only factor, Floyd would win every time. Still,
I stick with Animals whole heartedly.

Animals.... They are both great albums (Animals is my 2nd favorite Pink Floyd album, Relayer my 5th favorite Yes album*) I prefer Animals for its concept, and I dislike the song "Sound Chaser" (where I like all the songs on Animals.)

Relayer, although Animals is the best Floyd album...

Very easy poll for me, (for a change!) Relayer by miles. One of the two or three best Yes albums, every track is interesting, with excellent musicianship and complexity, yet retaining good melody for the most part. Lyrically, of course, it is weaker. Animals is one of my least favourite Floyd albums. Very, very overrated. The songs are very ordinary sounding to me, with dubious melody lines, and the guitar work is not up to Gilmour's usual high standard. And Wright is almost absent at times. Lyrically, of course,it is the superior album of the two, however. Both bands are amongst my faves, with Floyd, maybe, just ahead, at the time of writing. But that has changed many times over the years, and will continue to do so, I don't doubt!

This sin't even fair, Relayer is a great album after you listen to it 20 times, but Animals is just so BRILLANT! The lyrics are so much better, the music is so much better, and it's a better listen than Relayer.
