Hi ! First of all, sorry for my bad english… Yesterday, I went to the Keith Emerson concert in Lisbon, the first of his European Tour. In 2 hours and a half of pure joy some of the songs that we listened to (not in this order) were: Welcome Back… Eruption Bitches Cristal Stones Of Years Tarkus Hoedown Living Sin The Endless Enigma Touch and Go Lucky Man Epitaph Knife Edge …and some more I cant remember right now ... Two songs were dedicated to Dr. Moog and Cozy Powel. Emo also played a fantastic new music (Grand Piano / Guitar ) dedicated to the victims of the Katrina, and on the 2 encores an excelente version of a Led Zeppeling song, also “Honky Tonk Train Blues” and “Fanfare For The Common Man”. About the band: Keith Emerson: Its amazing how the man (61 yo) is in such a perfect shape. Technically almost perfect. Superb solos. In a word: The Master is Back !!! Dave Kilminster: Great guitar player, excelent voice. (almost made me forget Lake) Pete Riley: Nice 3 min. Drum solo but nothing compares with Carl…. ;-) Phil Williams: Average bass player |

I managed to see Emerson with the Nice around 18 months ago. For the second part of the show he included his new Band and I found David Kilminster a very very good guitarist. He has threatened to release another solo album for 2 years now.
I was disappointed Keith did not tour the UK with the band. I constantly search his site for up dates, so you lucky devil for the opportunity of just seeing him and his new band. |
