Hello everybody!

I just joined Prog Archives Forum so I'm quite new at it.

It's nice to be given the possibility to share experience and ideas about prog music with such a big audience of competent people.

I'm a musician myself and I've composed some music in the past. I'd really like to share it with you but to be honest I've no idea how to... Could anybody help?

Thanks to you all!

Yours progressively,
Stefano

If you've managed to get your music onto your computer, you could use a file sending site like http://www.yousendit.com or http://www.megaupload.com

Here's one of my tracks I uploaded to Megaupload; http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9XU07W5S

What can I say about it... it was a lot of fun to write, and doesn't sound too bad considering it's just two guys with a computer, a bunch of keyboards and guitars and 3 hours of "practice" every other Tuesday night

I look forward to hearing your music - let me know if you have any problems using either Yousendit or Megaupload. I prefer the latter as it gives longer file retention and seems quicker.

I use both quite a bit and have found that Megaupload uploads files quicker than Yousendit,but to download from Yousendit is much,much quicker than Megaupload.

I don't know how long Megaupload's file retention is though,is it more than 7 days,Cert?

"There is no registration and no fees. There is nothing to install and no special software required. All you need is the browser you are using right now. A file can be up to 250 MB. We will host your file forever for free, until it is unused for 30 days. If nobody downloads your file for 30 days, it is automatically deleted. Your file is available for download here at Megaupload 24 hours a day and seven days a week. We are always open and here to serve."

The only annoyance is the delay of 45 seconds it puts in before it allows people to download files - but that's to force you to look at the "Please Register" (and give us some dosh) box.

Did you check out my track, TPT? It's kinda heavy and sort of proggy... but mainly just fun.

Whatever you do, though, make sure you don't use Putfile.  If you read their terms of use, they say that anything you upload can be copyrighted and used by them and their subsidiaries.  How's that for a kick in the pants?

Nope - just a bunch of royalty-free drum loop samples from a CD... can't remember which off-hand

Here's another - one of our most recent, in fact... it's very odd, and quite heavy - our heaviest to date. I'm pleased with the guitar and bass sound quality on this one - but we still need to get better at mixing them to get more clarity;
