Like any guitar, you have to look at it, play it and then decide. I have an Epiphone Les Paul Jr. I know some are crap, some are adequate and I managed to get one of the ones that sound great. If I listened to what some have said, I wouldn't have bothered even looking at it. I heard of a Squire telecaster sounding better than the higher priced Fender equivelent. Price can be a poor indication.
My only concern would be the tremolo unit on it. Some are tricky to set up and maintain. Some are tricky even to change a string and some are a tuning nightmare. You just have to ask yourself if you are willing to learn about them and the ins and outs of that perticular one. I know I wouldn't have the patience (I prefer fixed bridges) but a friend tells me it's worth it if you are so inclined. But if that isn't an issue, or if you are already familiar with them, go for it.
You could buy it and if you don't like it, sell it on ebay or something.
