The only harm marijuana does to your body is the smoke that enters your lungs. If you smoke via vaporizer which has no harmful effects on the lungs or body then there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with marijuana. Marijuana oils can be used for fuel to fuel automobiles. The hemp can be harvested and in most cases is stronger than rope. It also would cut back rainforest destruction to use marijuana as a paper source. Marijuana also helps with over 50 different diseases and disorders( mainly types of cancer, glaucoma, and people who suffer from migrane headaches. Also, recently there was a study done at Berklee in California that shows the use of psyilcybin (magic mushrooms) can stop the onstart of migrane headaches! There are responsible cannabis users and there are people that do it to be cool. But, the problem is alchohol. Just because its legal doesnt mean its not harmful. There are certain types of club drugs (MDMA) that are still legal. Alcohol is treated as something that does no harm, when the reality is that it destroys brain cells, promotes violence and can destroy your liver easily. Parents treat alcohol like its just something that should be accepted, when millions of teens/adults die each year in drunk driving accidents. How many people have ever died from marijuana. It is fact that no one has ever died of cannabis overdose. After all humans created alcohol, God created marijuana and all of the other plants and animals on this natural Earth.

I believe you're referring to the hemp plant, not marijuana.
And the real reasons for the demonization of marijuana are fairly well known, if you look for them.
Google "DuPont" and "marijuana", and you'll see what I mean...

Well I am sure all of you are going great place in your lives because you dont smoke marijuana. It makes you better than the 10 million daily users in the USA alone. You are the reason why the world is not at peace. I guess we were never destined to exists on this planet very long.

intelligence being the most important one)

The hemp plant is the male marijuana plant, it produces no smokable buds and has little or no THC.

Progtologist. why did you quit? and why did your point of view on it change?

I quit when my first child was born.
I don't hate it,it's just not for me anymore.I was constantly stoned for over a decade and it just got old.I was so tired of being high that when I quit, being straight and clear-headed felt awesome.
|
yea, maybe you didnt consume it wisely...smokin weed everyday... after a while you dont have a reason to keep going, cause well. you are always stoned. But there are people who use nature's plants (like shamans) who make great use of them. like a peyote meeting per month, to learn things and think about the meaning of life. It is just a tool to access parts of life that we cannot access sober. (weed is not really that kinda drug though). but i respect the fact that you quit after your first child... Hek I most likely will do that too... But I will never say "drugs are bad, they do this to you. bla bla bla." when im old. ( I know its not your case but.)

Any drug, legal or otherwise is both good and bad. It depends on who's using it, why and how. Like you rightly say, if you get stoned every day you stop smoking for pleasure, and you begin smoking because...it's what you do, and you cant imagine not doing it. I was mashed daily for around a decade, like TheProgtologist. I quit earlier this year. It had become my crutch. I'd convinced myself I would never sleep properly again if I didn't get stoned. This was of course nonesense.
I'll never forget hearing 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' on acid for the first time. I felt I was listening to something of such profound significance; something so timeless and 'deep' that it put me on a high for days after. If I tried a trip now I think any deep rooted anxieites I may be harbouring below the surface would come screaming to the foreground and I'd end up a dribbling wreck. Now please excuse me while I put the kettle on...
Where's my slippers?....

Oh man, it's not the fact that a large amount of people doesn't smoke
marijuana that keeps us away from peace. Totally invalid statement here.

Heroin is derived from the poppy - does that make it okay ? There ARE some knowledgeable, careful cannabis users in 'erpland' (just love the Ozrics!!) but there are others who do progress onto less 'friendly' drugs.
There is NO music that is enhanced by drugs. End of story.

Pardon me, but most of the electronic music has much to do with drugs. I don't think there has been a drugs-free rave. Moreover, I don't think there has been a drugs-free rock gig if you consider alcohol a drug, and I certainly do since it affects your state of mind.

Raves drug of choice is Ecstacy. Leah Betts died taking that drug once.I'm pretty sure music is NOT enhanced by alcohol/drugs/nicotine etc etc. I knew this thread was a dodgy one to express an opinion. I love music and dont consider myself at a disadvantage because I either
(a) haven't drunk alcohol or
(b) haven't had a toke
