Which is your favourite MUSICIAN?

Which musician do you admire the most for his personality and for what he has offered to music??say more than one.

1. Tony Banks because he's a modest guy, no rock hero, yet he's really the guy that turned me into an active record buyer, because he contributed so much great music. Always going for unusual music, that still had a lot of melody and harmony.

2. Rick Wakeman because he's really very sympathetic, and although he is a showman, he's not irritating at all. He's a musician first, and all his showmanship is a consequence of the fact that he doesn't hide his enormous talent, but plays it out to the max. He's always playing uplifting music, and his keyboards are like a glorious waterfall / cascade.

3. Roger Waters as well because he wrote some great concepts, and thought out some brilliant music. His compositions may seem simple but sometimes they're very deep, in terms of ideas and emotions. I don't think he's an easy person to get along with, but he's a true artist who doesn't want to compromise on the music.

I definitely agree with you on this nomination!

I'd also suggest Miles Davis for being so influential and nurturing a whole  generation of jazz/rock musicians - John McLaughlin, Tony Williams, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter...etc, etc; and Frank Zappa for ploughing his own furrow without heed to what everyone else was doing; a real individual.

Geddy Lee is my favorite musician in rock. He did so many diferent things in his career and he inspired musicians form Progressive Metal to Pop music.

Ritchie Blacmore is my favorite guitar player. I know he isn't the most easy going man out there but you cant deny that he brought a revolution in guitar playin. The whole neoclasical thing is his creation.

David Byron is my favorite singer ever. He has just the tone that I like and he is the only one that he made me cry once becouse of his performance. RIP.

Nick Barrett- Pendragon............. the nicest, most honest, and funniest guy in prog!

Andy Latimer- Camel..................all round good egg  & years of great music!

Robert Fripp. Not only because of his guitar style, he also is a genius when he talks and express the ideas about music, the industry and all the topics about it.
