Topic: Pink Floyd tour? Posted: October 28 2005 at 11:55 |
A friend of mine who is also a soundman recently told me some exciting news. Aparently there is going to be a Pink Floyd tour next year. Now if this true may i first say Hell yes! I'm so excited!!!!!
However if this is not true then i shall die! Apparently they took a small ad out in The guardian saying they would be touring next year. It was only 2 or 3 sentences. can anyone else confirm this?

there were rumours about Pink Floyd tour start this September and some people were selling tickets online, but pink floyd management denied tour programme and warned fans not to buy any tickets as they have no plans on a tour programme. A music company offered 1/4 billion pounds for a world tour with roger waters in the band, but the offer was turned down by present sink floyd (there is no pink floyd with out it's leader roger. sorry to say that, i'm still a diehard fan of pink floyd) well ofcourse roger turned it down as well. thou they come up with a tour they play the same old stuff again and again, as we all know there is no lyricist in the band to produce a new album.

Congrats on your first post! It sounds like you will fit right in
here. And you are right. Pink Floyd without Water's can't
do crap for lyrics. And that is disappointing...
Also, I had always heard that Pink Floyd will most definately not tour
again. Roger Water's says that he will only perform a show if it
is for some charitable cause. However... having the REST of Pink
Floyd go on tour is sort of likely, I suppose.

I don't see why you people are all over excited from Roger Waters.. Had they planned a new album release, I would have realized.. but for a gig?
Comeon people, he isn't a godlike bass player, his stage performance doesn't make me wanna go to the bathroom and masturbate and surely I don't mind seeing Pink Floyd without his amazing vocals. As anyone's else I'm sure.
Another trick by music industries, people are getting excited for no good damn reason other than seeing the useless reunion which contributes nothing to the band.
Besides, I think Rogers is pretending and is dying to get back to Pink Floyd. He was very excited at live 8, sung the lyrics even when it wasn't it turn (not to the microphone, though) and stuff like that.. or that is the usual excitement he gets in shows.. Button line - I doubt anyone needs to point a gun at his head to 'make' him go back to Pink Floyd.

Surely he would have been thrilled to play a concert... the emotion would be incredible. But wanting to go through a whole tour together? That's very different.

Pink Floyd were offered something like $30,000/$30 mill (something big with 30 at the begining) to reform and do a tour (I think it was the US) but they said they wouldn't. Live 8 was there one and only and their last gig.
