It's really difficult to say which power metal band is prog and which isn't ... IMO there are some pretty normal power metal bands in the archives. The question is: Do we use these as a blueprint for accepting other power metal bands?

I agree ... we have to look at each band individually and not say "band ... is in the archives, so ... must be added as well". A better approach would be to move those bands (which are in the archives) to prog related.

tuxon:

Right now I can't think of any power metal band that I would move to prog related ... only Masterplan, and they have already been moved there.

Of course any such plan would be done using polls and lengthy debates.

How are Masterplan even PROG RELATED? Maybe because of Jorn Lande?

True, True, his voice alone makes it prog related!

They are quite technically brilliant, and sometimes they make lengthy proggy songs... And my fav argument: If Purple are here, why not them?

There were already some reviews, so it was decided that the band would not be deleted.

Since you asked: Symphorce are a band which I might be tempted to move to prog related. Unless someone explains to me why they're prog ...

Yes, it's Power Metal, but is it prog?

I know Wingdom, they just released their first album, Reality, which isn't bad at all. They're a Christian band, and their bass player is Alessandro Lotta (ex-Rhapsody.)

I read about them on another "prog" review site,It seems as though ProgArchives is the only place where there are folks who know what "real" prog is.

There are some  "Power"  bands which should be here though ,EPICA,THEOCRACY...etc

If WINGDOM is "power metal" then please remove them, and all of the other pure  Power bands..

I updated the chart ... many new additions, and I split the extreme genre.

Thanks!

Please let me direct your attention to the not yet categorized bands in the archives (upper left corner) ... any thoughts?
