A little sad story (not by me).

A man flew in an airplane.                                                 Unfortunately he fell out of the plane.
Fortunately he had a parachute with him.                           Unfortunately the parachute did not open.
Fortunately there was a haystack beneath him.         ;           ; Unfortunately there was a pitchfork in it.
Fortunately he missed the pitchfork.                                  Unfortunately he missed the haystack.

I assume they are standing in for some special characters and I'm just wondering what they were?

Another sad story:

A man bought a Yes CD. Unfortunately it contained a disc that said Starcastle.

Fortunately he also liked Starcastle. Unfortunately, the tracks on the CD were by Kansas.

Fortunately he also liked Kansas. Unfortunately all the tracks were irreparably scratched.

Fortunately his CD player was broken. Unfortunately he later jumped from a plane and fell to his death.

These funny characters somehow were inserted when I tried to adjust the 2nd column. It is some bug of the editor.
