Topic: Band Name Dictionary Quiz Posted: October 20 2005 at 07:41 |
Hurricane Wilma permitting, I'm off to Florida tomorrow for 2 weeks, this will be my first break from the forum since discovering it in July. How will I survive without my daily dose?
I'd like to say thanks at this point to everyone on the forum for guiding me towards some brilliant new music since I've been here and providing me with some great entertainment, particularly Blacksword, Snow Dog, horza, ofur (what's happened to ofur) and Fandango.
As a parting gift, here's a little quiz to keep you occupied until I return. Each of these dictionary definitions will lead you to a band name. Each answer is one word, each band is on the archives and each definition is from the Cambridge dictionary.
- A large flat enclosed area used for sports or entertainment
- An animal with greyish brown fur, a black and white head and a pointed face, which lives underground and comes out to feed at night
- A group of people with vehicles or animals who travel together for safety through a dangerous area, especially across a desert on camels
- The point where waves of light or sound which are moving towards each other meet
- A plant or animal that has been produced from two different types of plant or animal, especially to get better characteristics, or anything that is a mixture of two very different things
- Adjective - of a dark reddish purple colour
- Grass-like plant that grows in or near water and whose long thin hollow stems can be dried and made into floor coverings, containers, etc
- Either of the two occasions in the year when the sun is directly above either the furthest point north or the furthest point south of the equator that it ever reaches
- The level or point at which you start to experience something, or at which something starts to happen
- Used to express acceptance, willingness or agreement
Have fun, answers in just over 2 weeks time.
