I can stand all music- minus rap, pop, and emo.

Favorite genres besides prog:

Swing
Jazz
Classic Rock
Classical

But again, i can listen to anyting.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Okay, best non-prog music---- Soundgarden. Chris Cornell is just about the greatest vocalist ever.

I like a lot of grunge, like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana

I like a lot of blues influenced rock, Like The Tragically Hip and The White Stripes

Metal, Classic Rock, like Metallica, Megadeth, And of couse Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath

Acid/ psychedelic stuff, like The Doors, and The Coral

Then just some general bands, like Audioslave, Staind, Three Days Grace, A lot of hard rock like that, some rap (only Eminem, some people consider him complete crap, but I don't care. Also, 50 Cent sucks) And I even like Coldplay.

The Tragically Hip, Audioslave, Metallica,  The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes, Nirvana, Megadeth,   I even like Coldplay. I like a lot of blues-rock and blues-influenced rock. Acid rock

I pretty much can hack any kind of music - even bubblegum pop like Britney. It's easier to say what I don't like;

most opera (bits are good, most is turgid)
most metal (I'm solidly into classis hard rock - Purple, Sabs, Zep etc - but metal just makes me laugh, it's soooo corny)
most country (though there are obvious exceptions. The stuff I really don't like is that Nashville/Hollywood country - but I love '70s Emmylou, Gram Parsons etc and totally dig what Ryan Adams does - I guess country rock is my thing)
Most reggae - I'm just too white (why elese would I like prog). I like Bob Marley's greatest hits but that's about it for me I'm afraid
Trance music - soooo boring. I was into it in the early 90s but then it all just became the same.

All the rest usually has something worth listening to in it somewhere. If pushed to name three kinds of music I most identify with they'd be
1 Prog
2 Classic Rock
3 Post Rock/Electronica

Silence is the most important thing in music. Music is made of silences.

Silence id 50% of good music, the other half is ... well, non-silence. One can't exist without the other ... it all depends on the proper balance.

When I first read this I thought you wrote the Bluesbreakers. Now that's good
stuff. If you ever get a chance listen to the guitar work by Clapton or Peter
Green with Mayall and the breakers. Great stuff.
