...Your favorite band...my favorite band is really the mars volta...but i think iron maiden is easier to write about so i choose them...here are the ten reasons why maiden sucks: 1.Bass galloping-Yes when maiden understood that it was popular on Run to the hills they emediatly incorporated this galloping rhytm into 90% of their output. 2.Bad Musicians-Steve harris-A bass player wich idea of playing bass is hitting one string as fast as he can. Dave Murray-Generally a boring blues player wich improvises the same solos all the time. Adrian Smith-Has to work out solos a long time and still they sound incredibly boring. Janick Gers-A general clown wich never have been able to play guitar properly so he bounces around and throws in in the air instead. Bruce Dickinson-Instead of concentrating on getting the lyrics right and singin on pitch he concentrates on doing screams and holding his tone for the longest time and Nicko Mcbrain wich is generally more concentrated on just trying to be funny 3.Comericality-Yes maiden really wants to write hit singles, although their poor composistion skills does not allow it...Emediatly when they got more popular they started to release all kinds of dvd's and best of collections and so on. 4.Repeating sons structures-Yep when maiden wants to write a really long song they mainly just reapeat a riff or a vocal line alot...Just look to songs like rhyme of the ancient marnier, seventh son of a seventh son and dont look to the eyes of the stranger and the angel and the gambler. 5.Poor lyrics-Silly lyrics about dinosaurs and prostitues is not very intelligent. 6.Unserious music-Again combining musicans that wants to be comedians with unintelligent lyrics is not exactly a good thing. 7.Stuck on repeat-Yes Heavy Metal was popular in the 80's but generally they need to change themselves to perhaps write some music in a genre that anybody cares to listen to. They could have been more like Linkin park or creed or korn wich are the more popular metal bands around instead of just doing 80s metal 8.Too long songs-Whats the point of doing 7+min songs when you can do exactly the same thing in 5 minutes. 9.Guitar synths-Again a proof of them wanting to go commercial, when synths got popular in the 80s they incorporated them in a dreadfull way into their albums. 10.Blaze Bayley-Enough said... |

No matter what they will remain my favorite metal(not progmrtal) band of all time You can find small flaws like hat in any band. I love TMV, but Maiden are a bit stronger IMO. |

Why do people hate DT:
1. LaBrie`s voice 2. Too many guitar/key solos 3. Boring over 10 min songs 4. Too comercial (Hollow Years, Another Day, The Silent Man, I Walk Beside You) 5. Too un-comercial (Stream Of..., In The Name Of God, Octavarium, VIDOIT) 6. Portnoy`s insane drumming |

Well, if you're looking for ten reasons why you should hate my favorite band (KANSAS!!), just scan through some of their album reviews here on progarchives (note to all Kansas fans -- I STILL LOVE THESE GUYS, Hugues Chantraine and Scott Adams be damned!): 8. KANSAS Power 6. KANSAS Audio-Visions Review (Permanent link) by Hugues Chantraine @ 3:17:09 AM EST, 2/18/2004 ....the future looked bleak in the midwest states in the early 80's and even john Mellencamp's Farm Aid could do nothing for this band. 5. KANSAS Freaks of Nature 4. KANSAS Kansas - Live at the Whiskey 3. KANSAS Drastic Measures 2. KANSAS In the Spirit of Things And the number one reason why you should hate Kansas (according to those who have reviewed them on this site), is: 1. KANSAS Vinyl Confessions

You forgot reason 11 - any middle aged man (or group of men) who still considers it looks good to be wearing spandex 26 years into their careers really do need to stand back and take a look in the mirror |

I Walk Beside You, despite its "unproggy" attributes, is my favorite from the album. I don't know why, but I just love it!
