I am not sure if 30 Minutes to Mars is kind of like Mars Volta? Have you guys listened to them? Is that good?

  The band is called "30 SECONDS TO MARS" no they arent like MARS VOLTA.

I thought they were rubbish, personally. Maybe they've improved in the last three years.

They have a few good songs. It is pop/rock with electronics mainly and I think Jared Leto or some actor is the frontman.

My friend's somewhat big on them...or more on their first album...nothing too worth listening to, but it's alright for what it is.  And yes frontman is Jared Leto of Panic Room, Requiem For A Dream, and what else uhhh...fame.

I have heard them called "prog-pop", but that's ridiculous because they are neither prog nor pop.  Their production is pretty good and the albums sound nice, but the music doesnt do it for me. 

and let's not forget that Jared Leto was in Fight Club (the best movie ever).  that still doesnt make his band cool, tho.
