I've always thought "Pink Floyd" was a great name for a band. What do you think?

I think Jethro Tull is agreat name for a band.

People who know nothing about the band assume it is the name of the lead singer. I can then delight in telling them that it's the name of a 16th century farmer who invented the 'seed drill'

Perhaps I should get out more!

BTW, I agree about Pink Floyd. Good name..wierd and obscure.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I chose Spock's Beard from the list as I'm a bit of a trekkie... (or is it trekker? o, I don't know).

Although I also like  Pink Floyd and  Captain  Beefheart and his Magic Band.

and probably others...

Pink Floyd and Dream Theater are great-sounding names, but I voted for King Crimson, which is one of my favourites. Jethro Tull is good too. I find most prog bands' names quite interesting, while black metal really has the edge for absolutely ridiculous names....

Pink Floyd, and King Crimson both great names. Hatfield and the North sticks in the memory 'cos its a road sign on must be the A1 coming out of London.

I've always thought Yes and Genesis  had naff names.

Here's some other (non-prog) names that I like: -

1) Kilburn and the High Roads (not to be confused with Hatfield and the North).

2) Crispy Ambulance

3) Arthur Hodgson and the Kneecaps (as featured in The Rutles film "All You Need is Cash").

For me it's Yes the best name for a band due to it's simplicity!! But it must have been damn hard to invent!!
yet you still have time!

I think Dream Theater is a very neat name. And it suits their music very well.
