Kate Bush. A voice so odd and facinating, only a prog-nut could love it.
Arguing with anonymous strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be or seem to be self-righteous sixteen-year-olds possessing infinite amounts of free
time.

I'm not too keen on any from that list, but I do like Maggie Reilly who sang for Mike Oldfield, and Christina from Magenta, and Hannah Stobart of Wishing Tree (Steve Rothery's band).

No mention of Stella Vander of Magma? Or Anna Meek of Catapilla (whom I would have voted for; but she is definitely not everybodies taste)? An interesting female vocalist (though not exactly a singer) is Gilli Smythe of Gong. Also not exactly a singer is Rosi Müller of Ash Ra Tempel (to be heard on "Join Inn" and "Starring Rosi").
Honorable mentioning: Julie Wareing of the British Amon Düül (a band that for some reason still is missing in the prog archives, although they have 4 major releases and a sampler and such notable figures as Guy Evans of Van der Graaf Generator, John Weinzierl of Amon Düül 2, Dave Anderson of Hawkwind and Amon Düül 2, Robert Calvert of Hawkwind and Ed Wynne and Joie Hinton of the Ozric Tentacles played in them).
