Definitely Extreme Enough! Not as fast as some Extreme Prog Metal, but sometimes definitely heavier....

Seeing as no one else who replied had anything good for you (in my opinion, bar the Cynic recommendation) here's some stuff you would be interested in checking out:

Portal (Aus) -- "Seepia" and "The Sweyy" (These guys are genious!)
The Axis Of Perdition (UK) -- "Deleted Scenes From The Transition Hospital"
EbonyLake (UK) -- "On The Eve Of The Grimly Inventive"
Alarum (Aus) -- "Eventuality" (Kinda similar to Cynic, but really good none the less)
Stargazer (Aus) -- "The Scream That Tore The Sky"
Gorguts (Can) -- "Obscura" and "From Wisdom To Hate" (earlier stuff isn't interesting from a prog perspective)

Edit: Typo
