Fish era Marillion (boring and so not anything like classic Genesis) All Rick Wakeman solo albums bar Six Wives (boring and cheesey) Triumvirat (just crap) Jeff Wayne War Of The Worlds (cheesey plus any album with narrative I hate anyway) Alan Parsons Project (boring AOR masquerading as prog) |

ÄNGLAGÅRD I don't hate them, and there's great elements in their music... But there's also too much annoiyng elements in their music, so I don't find myself listening their two studio albums very often, which I have in my shelf. I would still recommend it to those who like symphonic OR NEO-PROGGISH music, like mid-70's GENESIS or something. heh heh... |

My feelings exactly. I love Genesis and Yes, and ELP does nothing to me. |

That means nothing. There are a lot people who love them. What is your point? |

YES - Relayer (1974) I have read this review and it is funny to notice that someone can love Close to the edge and not love Relayer. When I heard this album the first time I was completely blown away by Sound chaser (9/10).
Now that I have heard the album more often I am completely blown away by The gates of Delirium (10/10). But I have to say I had my doubts at first listen. When I listened to it more often, I came to the conclusion that the most astonishing part of the song is at 10:00-10:20 (it's almost the same as 9:20-9:40 but even better). That's the kind of sophistication I absolutely love and it is one you might overhear when you hear it for the first time. It's the same feeling I get when I listen to some songs of Gentle Giant (Give it back, Experience). There is only one part in The gates of Delirium where I think they kind of screw it up (12:27-12:48) but don't let this discourage you not to listen to this album again or to rate it with only one star.
I still have to dig To be over. I have to listen to it more often to make a good judgement about this song. I also have some trouble to dig The turn of the century from Yes' album Going for the one. But I love the Soon part from The gates of Delirium. Edited by Odd24 |

Not that I know much about it, but the metal or prog-metal or whatever-metal genre(s) is one I love to hate. . Reminds me of a bunch of snot-nosed adolescents trying to look and sound scary. Sorry for those who like that genre, but I cannot take that seriously. As a joke, it's definitely hilarious!! But that they should take themselves seriously is laughable.

now that's a real surprise, Trousie. of Genesis I knew, and Pink Floyd I can understand, given your taste, but the Art Bears???? they should be exactly your cup of tea. I especially don't understand how you can like Henry Cow and dislike the Art Bears; in my opinion they are one and the same (with the same musicans even), and the name change was not really necessary did you try "Winter Lights"? The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. The Rolling Stones covered 'You Can't Judge a Book by the Cover' and I like Manfred Mann, Hawkwind etc versions of their songs, but I just don't like listening to Jagger et al at all. I find Robert Plant's voice far too mannered and the arrangement/production too cluttered. |
