Topic: I just do NOT like them!! Posted: September 16 2005 at 16:52 |
Which band have you tried to get into because they seem to be the type of band you would expect to enjoy, and try as you might, you just can't get into them or see the point?? For me (I must confess) it is KING CRIMSON -I'm sorry but i just don't get it with them.

Ayreon, Ayreon and ooh er, Ayreon...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Ange but maybe I didn't start with the right album...What do you think of "Au Dela du Délire"?

It's a reasonable album but hardly mindlowing. Ange are hardly the most
essential of groups. Here's a few I feel I ought to love but just can't:
- Genesis
- Pink Floyd
- Art Bears
A bit of a shame mayhaps, but life goes on, eh?

E.L.P
Talented keyboard player who lacks melody, good, but no more than that, drummer, and average bass/guitarist with, for me, an inferior and irritating voice!

Another one for King Crimson here. A poor man's 'Yes' IMO. Also add Gentle Giant, VGG & Rush's 80's output to my list! |

i can understand if you don't like KC, but calling them "a poor man's Yes" makes absolutely no sense at all.

^Especially given that King Crimson came before Yes (at least the prog Yes) and played COMPLETELY different music.
I'm gonna have to go with Rush. Sure, they have a few pretty good songs, but I don't get why they have so much exorbitant praise thrown at them. They really don't seem to be THAT good to me.

Ayreon.
It might be the whole prog-rock-opera-thing with them, but as much as I want to like them, I can't.

''talented'' and ''good'' are not adjectives you apply to a band that you do not like at all! perhaps you are indifferent towards them?
Greg Lake as a vocalist is inferior to who exactly? Give some examples please! He sings well to me so I don't understand the point.
Let the ELP bashing commence...erm... I mean continue!
