Whooho my favorite guitar processor...i just love the way it works and although i doubt that it is anywhere close to the original amps it just got alot of great sounds and effects and makes it alot easier in recording stuff using a pc and a simple recording program like forexample audacity.

GREAT STUFF

Last week I was at a Pain of Salvation concert, and both guitarists used the POD XT (the floorboard version, naturally).

Personally I prefer the Vox Tonelab SE, but the POD XT is also very nice. Especially if you also use the Variax ... then you can use a special cable and switch guitar configurations with the floorboard (and tweak the Variax settings from the PC).

^ No amp ... just headphones, HiFi or PC.

(if I had more room at home and more tolerant neighbors, I'd have my old Engl Straight repaired and use the clean channel.)

I have several guitars: Gibson Nighthawk, Washburn N2, Ibanez Jem 555bk, and an ESP Horizon NT-II.

The ESP is my main guitar, and I play all sorts of styles, mainly shred stuff like Vai and Satriani, and Metal (straight stuff, and prog like Dream Theater). But also 70's stuff like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc.

ah i actually play more jazzy stuff mixed with sum strange stuff and some blues, i also use the line 6 to record keyboards and bass and i basically love making weird noises either messing with the delay feedbacke effects you can get a pretty strange sound and i would love to get a whammy to make some weird noises.

actually there is alot of fun stuff to be done with the tremolo...do you know that special harmonic trick that vai and satch seems to do quite alot?

^ of course I also play a lot of Blues ... just jamming along to backing tracks (I have the GuitarPort as well).

Which harmonic trick do you mean? I like the one in Satch Boogie (G string 2.4 fret natural harmonic + vibrato bar).

I was actually looking into getting the pod xt live one (the floor pedal one.) I
think I'd like it a lot since I've played the original pod xt and loved it. Just
have to cough up the cash at some point.

In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity
