David Bowie...The Edge...Johnny Depp...Delores O'Riordian...Tori Amos...Annie Lennox....They all have that 'spark' that makes them cool. Whatever they do, they always seem to charm us in a strange way.

Prog lovers: Who has 'it' in the prog world? Who has that 'cool' that everyone wants?

Carl Palmer---ELP (early years) Boyish look and a million dollar smile

Jon Anderson---YES (early years) Cosmic and kinda lost in space, short but the charisma of a true leader

Sonya Kristina---Curved Air Alone on her island of poetry, mysterious

Alex Lifeson---Rush (in concert) Looks like he's having such a blast, smiling and giggling all the time. Makes you wanna play guitar and rock the world

Syd Barrett---Pink Floyd The definition of dazed and confused. Intense look in his eyes and fragile appearance

Frank Zappa---Frank Zappa  Arrogance and savoir-faire. He's the best, and he knows it. Even sitting on the can makes him cool.

Hey, this is FUN!!

I remember, back in the early 1970s, really wanting a jacket like the one Greg Lake was wearing in the photo on the inside of the Trilogy LP cover - you know the one, the (velvet?) jacket with swallows and leaves sewn on it?

I always thought Dave Gilmour looks the epitome of cool on the cover of Ummagumma.

I like the distorted images of Peter Gabriel. Especially the cover of Security.

The coolest I've ever seen was Dave Gilmour on 'The Wall' tour, playing the solo from (of course) comfortably numb, standing on top of the wall with just a searchlight behind him - the solo went on & on, & you should have heard the ovation when he finished - definitely my number 1 concert memory & definitely the coolest musician I've ever seen......

This was, of course, before he discovered the joy of pies & porked out!

I think Richard Wright in the live in pompei  DVD was looking great, seemed very artistic, anyone who doesnt know him will say "this guy sure is an artisit"

I remember the way he sang Echoes in this so called "live", this song makes me shiver, oh i wish i were living in the 70's

when i sell my life story, maybe i should write it first and do the living later 'cause life is so much cleaner on the page

Alright people, let's face it.  Looking cool begins and ends with this photo.  One can't help but be amazed by the coolness on display in this masterpiece of photography.  Brace yourself...

I have a friend who I just recently got into ELP, and I showed him that album cover today.  He actually laughed out loud.

HI, THIS IS CÉSAR INCA.

Have you seen the photos of the guys of KANSAS in Monoliyj's inner sleeve? These guys got really neat to receive the glamourous 80s. Livgren even wears a suit and tie, looking like "the father of the bride".

This is rock'n'roll?

Regards.

Other cool pictures are of IQ, from The Wake (1985). New-romantic looking guys with a serious grin, like saying "I'm a prog performer, so I'm a serious musician".

Regards.

Were they the apple pies without crusts or Nick's much hated, round apple pies?

David deffinetly has that "ladies man tough guy" look but at the same time has the young boyish looks, he's got my vote. Roger just looks out of it especially when his mouth is haning open and his head tilted sideways with his half opened eyes, I sware he looks stoned out of his mind.

dave gilmour always looked cool - in many ways the pictures in the 70s of him are timeless.  the mars volta also look rad; even if they do wear girl's trousers!!

These guys look pretty cool

I always thought Hackett looked pretty cool sitting in the dark out of site, very dark and mystical.
