Hi Everyone!

I am new here so would just like to share with you my thoughts about my favourite musician, John Young.

You may not have heard of him but you will have heard of some of the bands he's played with over the years, Asia, John Wetton, Fish, The Scorpions and the list goes on and on............

His own music is wonderfully melodic, emoitve and with progressive influences. Please visit his website www.youngjohn.co.uk if you would like to hear some soundbites of some of his tunes. His band are hoping to play some gigs soon but before that they need some response from people who would be willing to go and see them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and I hope to share some thoughts about many of my other favourite bands soon (we are members of the Classic Rock Society up in Rotherham so we have a lot!!)

Best Wishes,

Lynn

Lynn:

Welcome to the site!  Assuming your name is not one of those "unisex" ones, I will assume you are female.  If so, a very special welcome, since you are only the fourth of your gender to join us!  Thank you!

I do not know of John Young, but will certainly "look him up" based on your respect for him.

In the meantime, enjoy the site, and make full use of it: do some reviews, join some discussion threads, etc.

And as for the generally testosterone-laden bunch of guys here, most of them are all "talk"; i.e., their bark is worse than their bite...  If you can get by some of their "playful" (or so that claim...) musings and comments, you'll do fine.

If ever you want or need to contact me privately, use the private messsnegewr function.  And don't worry - I'm a 24/7 kind of guy, so you will never be "bothering" me!

Have fun!

Peace.

Thank you for the warm welcome and yes, I am indeed female!!!

Although John is my very favourite musician, my husband Paul and I have many other favourite bands. Most of them you've probably never heard of but I hope to discover some new bands from you lot too.

There are some of my reviews on the JY site but obviously I am a bit biased.

Okay I will take your advice now and explore your site a little more.

Lynn

Thanks Lynn, I check it out and wil add JY to my list of purchases. BTW, I thought Wetton's Battlelines wasa  pretty good album. I must search for it again, as well.

Welcome to the forum. Have fun.
