I am going to propose a simple solution to stop numerous problems, maybe radical, but I think it's worth : Removing the top100 of prog rock album on the home page. This Top has ONLY bring problem to the site : People complain about the album they feel should be here (example: Dream Theater), about the fact mainly album with a the most reviews gets in the top, because it seem obvious somes are giving high or low rating to album with the only reason to up their favorite albums, and I could go on. I feel this top got no reason to really stay, anyway, everyone who knows a little about prog peobably is aware of the top prog albums.

What do you think of that?

Borealis,

I think what the top 100 has done is stimulated debate. That can only be healthy for the site.

Just my opinion.

IMO the current top 100 list represents a good choice of prog albums, it's a fair mix of popularity (number of reviews) and quality (average rating).

I presume you mean remove all charts (top 250 and top 500). My view FWIW is to keep the charts. OK there may be some rankings that you don't agree with, in fact we all probably think the same, but as long as everyone gives a fair rating and not 5 stars because they want to see their favourites in the chart, then it should be OK. Anyway give us credit for seeing beyond this. Please don't change the format again as I has just prepared another macro to import into excel and play about. It IS interesting to see what people are listening to.
