Anyone you would recommend of those? I know Opeth and Fantomas, but from the rest?

Some. "Present" by Van der Graaf Generator. I don't know how "recent" your "recent" is though, else I could give a better answer.

    Experimental/Psychedelic Art Rock
  • Fantomas - Suspended Animation
    Experimental Metal
  • Redemption - The Fullness of Time
Prog Metal similar to SyX, Fates Warning and Dream Theater
  • Presto Ballet - Peace Among the Ruins
Interesting mix of Neo-Prog and traces of Prog Metal.
  • Beyond Twilight - Section X
Good metal album with serious quantities of progressive elements.
  • Wobbler - Hinterland
Great "retro" Symphonic Prog - resembling Anglagard.
  • Opeth - Ghost Reveries
    Progressive Metal MASTERPIECE.
  • Echolyn & Pendragon ..
Neo-Prog, one more experimental and the other simply majestic.

Why, I recommend all of them of course.  I edited some further comments into my post.

Someone already said "Present" which is really good. I would have to add "Dark Matter" by IQ which is one of the best things I've ever heard, Glass Hammer's new one which I got today and probably the new Pendragon one which is out in 5 days time.

The new releases by Mostly Autumn, Dream Theater, The Mars Volta, Coldplay, Opeth and Finnish bands Moonsorrow and Sentenced have been outstanding this year!

That's a really odd list ... I saw Keane one month ago ... they were really underwhelming, as were U2. Muse and Tori Amos are great, Frank Ferdinand is ok, Coldplay - they're not hurting anyone. But Green Day are really bad IMO.

There's nothing odd about it. It simply means we have different tastes.

Agreed ... maybe I was a little harsh because some of them aren't progressive at all.

Not really a fan of Coldplay or Tori Amos, but I'd agree with you on the others.

^ I'm aware of it now. But even in non-prog, Keane, U2 and Green Day suck ... IMO.

One month ago I saw Keane and U2 in Munich ... both were huge disappointments. I was never much into U2 and only went to the concert because some friends of mine are huge fans. Keane were even better than U2, but - still not good.
