Which or plethora peter hammill's album do you like the most. I never heard the fall of the house of ushers, and the last work I followed was X-my heart. Out of those I have I like the most the following:
in chronologigal order:
foolsmate
chameleon...
silent corner...
pH7
as close as this
out of water
fireships
|
...and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make...

in no particular order:
In Camera,Over, Chameleon, Silent Corner and Fool's mate.
Actually five of his first six. Did not really appreciate Nadir's . Too punky but the middle tracks are ok. Not familiar enough with his latter stuff but House Of The Usher is ok.

I've only heard "Chameleon...", but if it's anything to go by, it won't remain that way for long!

Agreed , Silent Corner is probably his best.
Although rather uneven, Over has some of his most solemn moments: Time Heals , Alice , Betrayed and Yoga are so strong that even Nick Drake can go back to the drawing table to re-invent personal wounded songs. But Alice (and its awful strings) and the opening track are pure boredom.

As good as the 70s solo albums were, they were mostly a continuation of VDGG by any other means (which is no bad thing).
