hello guys, I really cant undrestand the lack of this prog-monster named QUEEN. Why there arent any info for them in progarchives? They are easily in the top 5 prog groups ever.

I guess you only know 4 prog bands...
|
Believe me I know many-many prog rock bands, but the three Queen albums I own seem to me very prog-ish (Queen II, A Night at The Opera, The Miracle)
|
I could accept you think Queen as a prog band, but man, easily in the top5 prog groups ever?!

The problem with Queen is that they spent three decades making music, and only made four real good albuns:
- “Queen II”;
- “Sheer Heart Attack”;
- “A Night at the Opera”;
- “A Day at the Races”.
The rest of their discography goes from almost good to real junk.
There are prog elements visible at:
- “Queen II”;
- “Sheer Heart Attack”;
- “A Night at the Opera”;
- “A Day at the Races”;
- “Jazz”;
- “The Miracle”;
- “Innuendo”.

I can't really imagine telling somebody
"Oh yes, Queen, of course they are were of the most popular Progressive Rock bands" without feeling a bit of a fool!
Same with Iron Maiden!

Queen I don't know what think about Queen they are great! My best non prog band. II & A Night At The Opera are the best. And try Was It All Worth from 89's album The Miracle.

Innuendo is a great album one of the best albums they did. The Miricle has prog elements as well.

queen in the top 5 proggroups, that's a bald statement.
Like them very much, Hot Space is their most progressive effort, together with Queen II, Innuendo and night at the opera

Hi Kas, and welcome!
Queen have been discussed a number of times on the forum, and I'm sure there have been a few polls about whether they should be listed here. Try using the forum search facility, and you should find the threads.
