I personally like coldplay and got both of their albums. It is pretty far from prog and is generallt loved by fourteen year old girls but i like their music anyway. Although i prefer prog ofcourse i like to listen to it once in a while.

I like the Vienna Boys Choir especially how they sing "A Ceremony Of Carols" by Benjamin Britten or several Missas and Requiems

Being an obsessive comedy collector as well as a prog fanatic, I have to admit a soft spot for some of the Goodies' albums...

All you non-brits... please don't look them, up.

I'm not embarresed by liking any kind of music I like, whether it was ABBA song, Scorpions ballad, "Fly Me to the Moon", Sarah Brightman, Tears For Fears, chamber music, a children's song, a folk tune,... Should I be?  But if I think the other way round, playing for example the chaotic beginning of Close to the Edge to someone not into prog would feel embarrassing for both of us, but hardly any of the above.

Erasure. They are a lot of fun, specially when I first saw a VHS concert of them... with the singer in a blue cowboy suit with the bottom showing everrything.

I also like Blackmore's Night A LOT, but I understand people who hate it. They can border kitsch sometimes.

Hey, doesn't play in that band a guy who used to play guitar?  (I also like them, btw)

The most embarrasing? I don't know... maybe from time to time a musical by Andrew Lloyd Weber gets itself into the CD player, and I don't take it out from there... But generally speaking I'm rather proud of my wide musical tastes, even though my neighbours think I suffer from dissociated personalities...

I have a wonderful CD of heavy metal groups covering ABBA songs. It's really great and very, very funny.

Now that you have pleaded guilty, I must also confess that I like part of the ELP catalogue. Please, please, don't beat me!!!

If I like the music then it is not embarrasing! But I may not yell/shout it out loud that I like it.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

My favourite one is "Thank you for the music" by Metalium... The singer that tells a story about nobody loving him until he communicates through songs and dance... It almost makes me cry....

Dont worry, nacho. I have six ELP albums myself. I also have a stack of Genesis albums. It's society's crime, my friend, not ours...
