Topic: Prog Rock Band Names HELP!!! Posted: May 25 2005 at 20:17 |
Need help with a good prog band name!!! well, we are a teenage non
cheesy prog band, with metal influences, jazz influence, and just good
old classic prog influences... we have a unique style i.e. clean jazzy
guitar chords over blastbeats, bass w/guitar harmonies, and wakeman
influenced keyboards , i dont know how accurate my description is , but
i would like some prog fan suggestions/votes on this list of
names i came up with

Mirage was Peter Barden's band!
Anyway, I voted for liquid sunshine but don't know why

Liquid Sunshine is also good.

Personally I think you could come up with better. Out of that list I'd go with Suntower asking

Hi,
I know it won't help if you get votes for different names but I'm not a native english speaker and "Plethora" sounds nice to me

Cloudburst sounds nice (many others are a bit pretentious in their fantasy; I prefer one-word names), and especially if it would have Tangerine Dream influences... I recently imagined a band and named it Daylight - but I found there have been band(s) of that name.

All those names are a bit on the cheesy side of things. I got images of
mullets, poney tails, beards and leather coats stuck in my head when I
was reading through the list.

I think you should call yourself something interesting like "Benjamin
Disraeli's Engimatic Trumpet" or "The Ocelot Experience". Well...
s'what I'd call my band if I had one anyway.

"Peter's Flight of the Dancing Gnomes Featuring Mr. Hobbertopp with his Magical Glockenspiel and Other Assorted Objects a.k.a. One Mustache Too Many"
Whatever you do, for God's sake don't go with "Moongate Climber."

Plethora rolls off the tongue quite nicely. It splits down into three fairly harsh sounding syllables which a lot of good prog bands have. - harsh sounding that is. Some bands consist of one, some of two, some of.......................................................... ......
