I know there's a lot of people that hate DT in the site. But they have participated in many side projects and created a few

My favorites (either created or just a participation) are:

Liquid tension (with portonoy, petrucci and rudess)

John Petrucci - Suspended Animation

Explorers Club - Age of impact (Wich is impressive for the people Trent put together:  Terry Bozzio / drums
- Billy Sheehan / bass
- Trent Gardner / keyboards, trombone
- Wayne Gardner / electric and acoustic guitars, some bass
- John Petrucci / guitar
- Steve Howe / acoustic guitar
- Derek Sherinian / keyboards
- James Murphy / guitars
- Michael Bemesderfer / flute, wind controller
- Frederick Clarke / nylon string guitar
- Matt Guillory / keyboards
- Bret Douglas, Matt Bradley, James LaBrie, D.C. Cooper and Trent Gardner / vocals)

Neal Morse's One and Testimony (Portnoy)
Frameshift - Unweaving the rainbow ( James LaBrie)

Transatlantic (potnoy)

James Labrie-Mullmuzzler,Frameshift,Tim Donohue's Madmen and Sinners,Elements of Persuasion

John Myung-Platypus,The Jelly Jam

Jordan Rudess-His solo cd's,Liquid Tension Experiment,Rudess/Morgenstein Project

John Petrucci-Liquid Tension Experiment,Suspended Animation

Then you have various members work with Ayreon,Explorer's Club, etc.
