As soon as I logged onto the Forums today, my Norton Antivirus program informed me that it had 'blocked an internet worm intrusion attempt." (A "Trojan Horse") has anyone else experienced problems since the serious trolling activity of Saturday/Sunday? The site itself may well be under attack, and not just from pornography.Confused

Thoughts/advice from the computer-savvy among us would be most appreciated!Stern Smile

SmileThat's reassuring, and thank you, Nacho, but COULD a troll put a virus in a post, and if so, how is the site protected, Max? (I don't want to spread fear here, just wondering....)Confused

The problem is that my firewall has been set not to alert me anymore-just to deal with it appropriately.

It is highly unlikely you could get a virus from logging onto a site such as prog archives. A troll could not put a virus in a post. A trojan horse usually tries to place some kind of spyware on your computer and unless you are using a program such as Spybot S&D or Adaware (both free) your computer probably has loads of the buggers on it.

I used to get the most trojan warnings from browsing Amazon and listening to sound clips from albums on the site. But like I said I have instructed my firewall not to inform me anymore.

^ Thanks Tony -- that too, was reassuring.Smile

EmbarrassedSorry all, if I may have seemed a bit paranoid, but seeing the sicko's graphic images here freaked me out a bit, I guess.

(I'd hate my little son to see me inadvertantly "look" at stuff like that.)Stern Smile

Oh well -- some unbalanced souls would rather destroy than create, and choose to make enemies over friends....Confused

Regrettably "It's a wild world -- and it's hard to get by just upon a smile...." Unhappy
