An OK review, but the "PS" is longer than the review and it's completely out of place... It seems it was the main reason to write the review...
GENESIS - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (1974) — This is theIR best, in my opinion, together with Selling England by the pound........... yes, a little bit too long, some lousy tracks, a psychedelic story that's sometimes not too convincing............ but I like it (like-it-like-it-like-it.........). Great cohesion, great engineering, very modern sounds (actually taken from Eno's studios) Tracks like the lamb , back in NYC, Carpet Crawlers , just give you the definition of the way Gabriel was gonna take in a few years.Shiny , metallic, futuristic, plastic. Very recommended. PS: TO FELLOW POSTERS AND , IF THERE IS ONE, ADMIN. I JUST RECENTLY JOINED THE SITE, MET GREAT PEOPLE TO TALK ABOUT ART, BUT THIS GUY HERE, THE NAME IS "GEEE" , FROM MALTA, IS ANNOYING ME CAUSE I'M ITALIAN, YOU KNOW ALL THE DEALS ABOUT WW2 AND MY COUNTRY BEEING MADE BY COWARDS AND STUFF LIKE THAT.I USUALLY DON'T TAKE THIS STUFF SERIOUSLY, BUT HE'S INSULTING ME CONSTANTLY WITH TONS OF CUSSWORDS. I'D LIKE SOMEBODY TAKE SOME ADVERTISEMENT OVER THE THING! IF YOU WANT PROOFS READ THE "ANTI-PROG POST" AT THE BOTTOM (where I'm trying to be educate in front of a rude person) My advice, if you want this site to talk about art and not about cussing at each other nationality , you have to keep it CLEAN. Know what I mean about that GEEE...

If this review is part of some kind of forum fight, I don't think it should be there. I haven't really been up on that whole deal, so I'll leave it to you guys to sort out.

I don't care if I've posted these before - I'll post them again These are NOT reviews of the album;
RADIOHEAD Ok Computer — Brodders69: You are so spot on with your review/p*sstake of some of the saddoes on this site & I've got to say that Nick The Bassist ('Hey, I'm a musician - I know about these things!') probably wouldn't know one end of a bass guitar from the other if his review is anything to go by; Carry on the good work, both with the excellent & perceptive reviews &the merciless mickey-taking of those boring old hippies who think they know best!

Well, I'm not American, but... right now I'm reading 'The Sound and the Fury' by William Faulkner and 'Black Spring' by Henry Miller, what are you reading, Belva? |

In addition to the poor quality of the review itself...I must say as an American I do not care for the stereotypes and attacks on us. Even IF this guy thinks he's being attacked for his nationality (as he's said in other threads and reviews), turnabout just is NOT fair play.

Yeah, first he complains that he gets blamed for what the Italians did on Malta and then disses Americans as uneducated halfwits... it's just as arrogant as it is stupid. |

DREAM THEATER Awake
Review by Rory Lewis @ 10:58:32 AM EST, 1/10/2004 — Well everyone loves Dream Theatre except me! Great guitarist (I even bought his guitar lessons DVD) and flashing keyboard work from the other guy. Here's the problem though, underneath all the flashy wizardry most songs by this band (not all) are shallow. Oh yes, I almost forgot, the lead singer is too fat, chases the rock idol image too much and can't hit the real high notes can he eh! You never get the hairs on the back of your neck bristling like you thought you would with Dream Theatre. That's the difference between great and not so great for me. No offense meant.
Not really a candidate for deletion, but a perfect example of the thoughtlessness of some of the reviewers here. No offence taken as a DT fan but simply sad that so many people think a musician's looks a factor in judging his/her work. And I thought this was only common with mainstream pop fans, stupid me.

I think it is a candidate for deletion - it's not a review of the album!

It's an attitude he seems to have towards all DT albums, so in this manner it is a review of "Awake" IMO... However, I wouldn't mind this being deleted... |

What a stupid, superficial comment about LaBrie. I mean, to dislike somebody's VOICE on grounds of taste is one thing...but cracks about someone's appearance are unacceptable.
Not to mention that I think this guy needs to get his glasses prescription checked if he thinks LaBrie has a weight problem. He looked OK on the DVD for The Human Equation. |

THESE ARE STILL HERE!!!
And this one is an annoying commentary on whether they should or should not be in the archives - even if the reviewer does bother to comment on the songs, the first sentence alone should make this a candidate for deletion - the reviews are not the place for comments on site policy, and only Radiohead seem to attract this dumb kind of reviewer;
RADIOHEAD Ok Computer
Review by Pylo @ 4:37:00 PM EST, 5/13/2005 — Radiohead should not be in ProgArchives, this is not prog rock, but something between alternative rock and 'dark pop'. Nevertheless, there are some good songs on this album like "Let Down", "Karma Police", "No surprises" and "Lucky" but the other tracks are quite boring, and i can't stand Thom Yorke's awful voice. IMHO one of the most overrated album of all time ! For fans only. |

DREAM THEATER - Octavarium (2005)
Review by Arjun Kamath @ 1:03:20 PM EST, 5/19/2005 — This album rules!! Not as good as Scenes From A Memory or IAW, but this is like a continuation of TOT...Amazingly heavy, but still manages not to enter death metal category...Am too lazy to discuss the songs song-by-song, but generally, its a short album, with only 8 tracks with none of the tracks more than 8 mins long...A special mention is the first song The Root Of All Evil, where the starting is very similar to the intro of Crimson Sunrise, and sounds a lot like Civil War by GnR....Awesome album really, but i cant give the 5 stars because its not typical DT stuff like SFAM, IAW or Awake..
Yet another Octovarium review, which is obviously wrong because the Octovariuim track is 20 min long!

While I understand the intent of this...this is NOT a review:
DREAM THEATER - Octavarium (2005) Review by gReAsEr @ 5:32:35 PM EST, 5/19/2005 — You're talking about James Labrie's solo album. Octavarium is not out yet, even the promo version. On the other hand the last song is 24 minutes long. Please if you practice piracy at least do it properly and stop confusing people. The Root Of All Evil (Album Version) 8:07 The Answer Lies Within (Album Version) 5:26 These Walls (Album Version) 6:59 I Walk Beside You (Album Version) 4:29 Panic Attack (Album Version) 7:16 Never Enough (Album Version) 6:33 Sacrificed Sons (Album Version) 10:42 Octavarium (Album Version) 24:00 |

OK, how about just delete ALL of the Octavarium reviews until the album is RELEASED?! This is getting ridiculous. Now we have this zero-star beauty...
DREAM THEATER - Octavarium (2005) Review by Gabriel Costa @ 7:25:17 PM EST, 5/19/2005 — How can you rate an album not released yet? You can't. Arjun has listened the LaBrie's solo album "Elements of Persuasion" (magnificent cover art by Dave McKean) It is on the net as "Octavarium", a preety clever trick, but he didn't notice: 1. The guitar player IS NOT Petrucci (if you're a DT fan you should know!) 2. The drummer IS NOT Mike Portnoy (if you're a DT fan you should know!) 3. The bass player isn't John Myung (and is the most notorious difference with DT) 4. The keyboard player isn't Jordan Rudess (am I wrong?) So, wait till the album goes on sale and then talk... Oh, if you want to listen to it before make a review (that for all the blind DT fans who actually likes the album before even listen to it!) it would be fine! |

DREAM THEATER - Octavarium (2005)
Review by Asura @ 11:57:37 AM EST, 5/20/2005 — I'm only giving it a 5 Star Rating for the purpose of giving it a rating and DT are DT worthy of 5 Star Ratings. You do realise that: A. Octavarium hasn't been leaked yet; B. Octavarium isn't out until June 7th. Therefore, you cannot even rate this album yet! Fools.
That breaks so many rules.
