I've found an incredible Mahavishnu Orchestra video for The Noonward Race, a song from The Innter Mounting Flame, here.  What an amazing ensemble.  At a technical level I must say they're the best ensemble I've ever seen.  The highlight of the video is Jerry Goodman's flawless violin solo.  Simply jaw-dropping.  Also a bit funny considering how laidback John is and excited about playing in contrast to his high-octane guitarwork.

I love those guys, listening to them makes me want to give up on music because theres no way ill ever be an equal. They are the real deal.

Haha, I know what you mean.  Take their brilliance as inspiration rather than giving up though.  They are indeed the real deal.
