Sorry James, but, as I've indicated before, we need a large open plain

If Nevada has plenty of anything it's space. The ELP and DT wars could happen in the same place, just outside the city, where they filmed the Shatner/ Stewart/ McDowell battle in "Star Trek: Generations".

I know that Las Vegas is surrounded by a zillion miles of desert (very appropriate for the meeting), but still, your choice of photo was mistaken for two reasons - 90% of the meeting is going to take place in the desert, and, hence the photo should have been of a hospital

just follow "the strip" a few miles along its length till it ends...and there you have it...empty Nevada desert.

oh yes, the infamous American deserts, just the place for the members of Progarchives to recapture the spirit of the paintings I pasted.

Nope, sorry, still not there.

In the meantime, however, having enlisted the help of Hans Memling, the prog metal community turns the tables on its naysayers.

Great idea! Lets start putting some ideas together.

For the US, I would suggest somewhere in the midwest, like... Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri... something like that. If it were to happen, I think it should happen near the end of the summer, you know, sometime in August. If we were seriously going to do this, we'd have to get a committee together to organize it, and it would require some serious hors of organizing. We need to advertise, rent out some sort of venue, raise money for the endeavor, and maybe try to get some home-grown acts together to play. I would be more than happy to lead such a committee. Clearly, if we we're going to organize such an event, we'd need to reach out to the prog community as a whole... you know, get other prog websites and record labels involved.

If anybody has any ideas, contact me at [email protected].

This Breughel shows with uncanny precision what fate befell Radioactive Toy's joke and what the general reaction to it was.

What about this project?

I still want to organize a battle between "real" prog fans and neo prog /metal fans.
