Hi Folks,

I'm not sure how this new site works, so I thought I'd introduce myself as a 'newbie'.  As some of you may have gathered, Fandango comes from PoS's Remedy lane album, which in my view is one of the finest pieces of Prog Rock recorded over the past few years, and the thought provoking lyrics under this message, are from this song.

I have been listening to progressive music for over 20 years now, ever since I heard Rush 'Signals', Yes 'Drama' and Genesis 'Three Sides Live', (I think you can guess my age from this!)then worked my way backwards through their catalogues and everyone elses!  Although through the years I have also listened to AOR and a bit of mainstream metal, I tend to come back to prog before long, as like a broadsheet newspaper over a tabloid, I tend to find it has more depth and a significantly longer shelf life.  I can think of AOR stuff which I loved in the 80's but wouldn't necessarily pick up now, but will always remember being introduced to early Rush and Yes albums, and feeling the hairs standing up on the back of my neck with emotion!

These days, I tend to listen to stuff ranging from Symphony X and DT, through to Jadis, Iluvatar and that wonderful Janison Edge album, via Everon, IQ, Enchant & Spock's Beard, but am always open to new bands, and the sheer wealth of music highlighted on this great site should give plenty of food for thought!

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
